There’s Room at the Table

There’s Room at the Table

This past week, we had the honor of welcoming a new woman into our program from Kijabe.

When I first received the text from George, tears sprang to my eyes. Our family has felt so much tragedy lately. I didn’t even read the words right away. I just whispered to myself, “God is still working.”

That simple reminder touched something deep in my heart.

The truth is, God’s mercy and grace never end.

This week in my Bible study with friends, that was the topic. And it struck me in a way it hadn’t before. Somewhere along the way, I realized I had begun to believe that His mercy and grace ebb and flow. That in some seasons they are evident and in others they quietly stop. That in some situations they are abundant and in others they are withheld.

But they are eternal.

His mercy was present long before me, and it will continue long after me. His grace walked beside Moses. It walked beside the disciples. And it will walk with my grandchildren and great grandchildren one day.

What a beautiful reminder of that truth we saw this week.

In the middle of grief. In the middle of questions. In the middle of stretching and growing, God is still making room at the table.

Adding one more woman may seem small to some. But to us, it is sacred. It is a declaration that hope continues. That opportunity continues. That grace continues.

There is always room at the table.

Please pray with us that God will continue to open doors, new opportunities, new conferences, new connections, so we can keep growing and serving vulnerable women and children. Pray that one day we will have a thriving, continual business for these women. That we may even have a physical store to sell from and a place for them to come to work, to fellowship, and to create an even bigger community.

So we keep going. We will not quit.  We pour out our oil and ask the Lord to guide our steps and illuminate our path.

There is always room at the table.
