Choosing Joy, Living with Purpose

Choosing Joy, Living with Purpose

Two years ago this week, my dad entered heaven.

And as we launch our second Radiant Hope collection, I can’t help but think about him. I remember sitting on the cold hospital floor, holding my breath, trying to process what was happening. I promised myself right there I wouldn’t let this make me bitter. He wouldn’t have wanted that.

I was 23, newly married, with a whole world ahead of me, and suddenly, I felt completely lost.

We were praying for a miracle. I remember playing worship music, watching his brain waves flicker in response. We held on to hope. But then, at 2 a.m., we got the call. He had entered into heaven.

Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the kind of life my dad lived. I always admired him, but it wasn’t until he was gone that I started to truly understand the impact of his quiet faithfulness. He didn’t need attention or applause. He just walked with Jesus every day. He loved people well. He served without needing credit. And he always, always pointed others to Christ.

We don’t get to take anything with us. No money, no status, no achievements. What lasts are the lives we touch, the seeds we plant, the people we bring closer to Jesus.

A year after he passed, my husband and I went to Kenya. That trip changed everything. Meeting the women there, hearing their stories, seeing their strength and joy, it was like something clicked. Radiant Hope was born out of that moment. It felt like God weaving something new from something painful.

This collection is full of meaning. Every bracelet tells a story. Every piece is a reminder that beauty can come from brokenness and that hope can rise even in the hardest seasons.

Love your people. Hold them close. Invest in what really matters. Point others to Jesus. Be present. Be generous. Be kind. Stay faithful, even when it’s quiet and no one sees.

Because at the end of it all, it’s about serving, living a life full of purpose, and most importantly, leading others to Christ.

Thank you for being part of this journey. This mission means more than I can say, and I’m so grateful you’re in it with me.

With love,
Scottlyn
